Description
Alameda Municipal Power (AMP) is seeking qualified contractors to provide substation ground grid surface restoration, and vegetation abatement services. The selected contractor will be responsible for restoring the surface of ground grids at various substations and performing vegetation abatement to ensure the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure. This project aims to maintain the integrity of the ground grid systems and prevent any potential hazards caused by overgrown vegetation. Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, tools, equipment, and supervision required to perform complete weed abatement and site restoration at the identified facilities. 1. Work Areas Work includes all gravel and exposed soil areas within fenced limits of each site, unless otherwise directed. Contractor shall field-verify site conditions prior to bid. 2. Weed Removal Remove all existing weeds, grasses, and vegetation, including roots where practicable. Clear organic debris from surface. Haul and dispose of all green waste offsite in accordance with regulations. 3. Herbicide Application Herbicide shall be appropriate for utility yard use and compliant with local, state and federal regulations. Prevent overspray onto equipment and adjacent properties. The contractor shall comply with applicable City of Alameda IPM requirements and all required State licensing requirements. AMP reserves the right to approve proposed products prior to application. 4. Weed Barrier Installation Furnish and install heavy-duty, UV-resistant weed barrier fabric. Overlap seams minimum 12 inches and secure with staples/pins. Ensure full coverage with no exposed soil. 5. Re-Rocking Furnish and install crushed angular granite or basalt rock ranging from 3/4-inch to 1-1/2-inch size Restore crushed-rock depth to approximately 4-6 inches minimum across all station footprints. Grade rock evenly to maintain proper drainage away from structures and equipment foundations Match existing site conditions where directed by AMP
