Period of Purple Crying Apps The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) intends to conduct an Invitation to Negotiate with the National Center on Shaken Baby Syndrome for the purchase of Period of Purple Crying app packages. Packages contain a 10-page booklet, app activation code, and parent reminder card. This is an evidence-based educational program designed to help parents and caregivers understand normal infant crying and prevent shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma. App content includes crying characteristics, soothing techniques, coping methods, safe sleep, infant safety, and self-care. Also included is a baby development tracker for feeding, crying, sleeping, diaper changes, pumping, measurements, and vaccinations.
