Six Core Strategies The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) intends to enter negotiation with American Association of Childrens Residential Centers (ACRC) to implement the Six Core Strategies. Six Core Strategies is an evidence-based, trauma-informed organizational model designed to remove the use of restraint and seclusion in child serving settings. ACRC is the only authorized provider of Six Core Strategies in the U.S. for children and youth residential programs. ACRC has built relationships and buy-in with agency leaders and staff through their current contract performing this work. Attempting to transition to a new vendors training curriculum would introduce new terminology, create confusion, and reduce buy in, increasing risks associated with restraint and seclusion in child-serving settings. The Contractor must provide technical assistance, coaching calls, Six Core Strategies Training, Quality Improvement Collaborative, Congregate Care Institute Webinars, and an Aftercare Project Workgroup.
