Hartford Public Library - Barbour Branch

The purpose of this project is to build a new state of the art 16,000 sf library to transition the current Barbour Library from a leased space to a permanent location. The project is for the construction of a new Barbour Library on a currently vacant site located at 234 Barbour Street, Hartford, CT, 06120 that will require environmental remediation of soils as well as driven pile work to support the building. The building itself will consist of a children’s room and teen lounge, computer area and technology lab, dedicated Makerspace programming area, NextGen adult learning center, food pantry, community room and roof patio.
