City and County of San Francisco Human Services Agency (HSA) Funding Opportunity Request for Proposals (RFP) #1240 CalFresh Community Works Program The San Francisco Human Services Agency (SFHSA) announces its intent to seek proposals from nonprofit organizations to serve as Coordinating Organization(s) to partner and support Host Sites in the CalFresh Community Works Program (CCWP). The Coordinating Organization(s) will be awarded as the Grantee and Host Sites will be identified as subgrantees. Coordinating Organization(s) may also serve as a Host Site. The CCWP will be SFHSA’s community-based workfare activity designed to help CalFresh participants maintain benefits. By requiring no job readiness prerequisites and enabling participants to engage quickly in structured, community-based work activities, this program offers a low-barrier option for participants to meet work requirements and maintain CalFresh benefits. SFHSA plans to implement the program through a hub-and-spoke model, in which Coordinating Organization(s) will serve as the centralized administrative hub responsible for developing and supporting a portfolio of CCWP Host Sites (Host Sites) across San Francisco. These host sites will offer community works assignments that support the participant’s development of marketable skills while fulfilling their work requirement and contributing to the San Francisco community.
