Schimmel Engineering LLC provides precision 3D laser scanning, reverse engineering, and mechanical design for aerospace, defense, government, and industrial clients. Led by a licensed Professional Engineer (TN), we deliver NIST-traceable scanning (±0.025mm) on-site within 20 minutes of arrival, covering objects up to 50 ft. We reconstruct legacy and discontinued parts with no OEM drawings, supporting sole-source justification, FAI, and incoming inspection. Services include scan-to-CAD (solid, surface, NURBS), GD&T-based dimensional metrology, structural and fatigue FEA, failure analysis, and actuator sizing for robotic and motion systems. Past work includes interpretive reverse engineering of extrusion screws and cast components with no surviving data, and structural/motion analysis on a 34,000 lb, 17-axis servo-driven mechanism. Data handled consistent with ITAR/EAR requirements as applicable. Fully mobile, flight-cased equipment; no facility visit required.
