Competencies include medical billing and coding and clinical documentation improvement. Proficient with Inpatient and Outpatient Coding Guidelines, along with knowledge of Coding Clinic. Knowledge of references and code sets such as ICD10CM PCS, CPT, HCPCS. Expertise in MS/APR DRG payment systems, including MCCs, CCs, ROM, and SOI. Trained in HCCs and Risk adjustment validation for Medicare Advantage and Commercial plans. Knowledge of medical records procedures, laws, regulations, and compliance. Engage in ongoing education with certifications from AHIMA and AAPC. Coding and CDI trainer designations through AHIMA.
