BreakSight offers one of the first commercial platforms that specifically examines how precision oncology treatments damage cells’ DNA at the sequence level. By capturing and analyzing site-specific patterns of DNA breakage, we help researchers and drug developers better understand the biological mechanisms driving therapeutic response and discover new DNA biomarkers—genomic clues that can predict whether a drug will be effective for specific patients. Nearly all current biomarkers exist as mutations in expressed genes, which constitute only 2% of the genome, limiting biomarker discovery to a narrow range within the cells’ DNA. Through break signature analysis across both the coding and non-coding regions, our platform expands DNA biomarker discovery from the current 2% of the genome to the remaining 98%. As we look to innovate in the clinical space, we aim to add layers of biological insights to existing genetic data to increase diagnostic power and improve treatment decisions.
