ThermApparel LLC, an SBA-certified WOSB, designs and manufactures non-electric phase-change (PCM) cooling vests that protect personnel from heat stress. Vests are worn under uniforms, hazmat suits and PPE by disaster response, first responder, hazmat and forensic teams, and by veterans and patients with medical heat sensitivity. Packs hold near 70°F (21°C) and give up to 4 hours of cooling with no batteries, power, ice burns or condensation. They recharge in 30 minutes in ice water or 45 in a freezer, are reusable thousands of times, and a second set allows continuous cooling on long shifts. Past performance includes the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (POs and GPC) and state and local forensic teams in CA and NV.
