The Fires Within develops behavioral health technology for Veterans. Its system, GUIDO, is a monitored, human-in-the-loop behavioral companion for Veterans in recovery from co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorder — working, deployed software that accompanies a Veteran between clinical appointments, the interval where relapse and suicide risk are highest. Capabilities: human-in-the-loop crisis escalation to a consented network of the Veteran's own supporters, with the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline always present; evidence-graded clinical content delivery; auditable safety architecture with deterministic crisis detection independent of the AI component; secure cloud software engineering on Google Cloud and Firebase, HIPAA-capable, role-based access control, Section 508 considerations; and federal R&D proposal development for SBIR, STTR and BAA. Three U.S. provisional patent applications on file. Accepts purchase orders, SBIR/STTR, BAA, subcontract and teaming.
