Capabilities

Provider of wilderness medicine trainings designed to meet the needs of field based personnel, including wild land firefighters, timber specialists, field biologists, and line men. Government clients include the US Forest Service, Department of Natural Resources, and the Department of Environmental Quality. High energy, experience based trainings that result in certification include Wilderness First Aid (16 hours), Wilderness First Responder (76 hours), and CPR (3 hours). Custom courses can be designed to meet the specific needs of a group. Classes are designed as a mix of lecture, skills practice and medical scenarios. Less than 5% of the class is PowerPoint presentation. All trainers are experienced educators with extensive backcountry experience, with most trainers having at least EMT and Wilderness First Responder level certifications. Trainers travel to specified sites to conduct all trainings.
