Back to the Basic Farms is based in Florida and is in the initiative staging of developing a teaching farm dedicated to empowering People of Color to grow food, acquire land, and build sustainable, healthy communities. The organization goal is to increases access to nutritious foods in underserved areas, provides hands on agricultural education for youth and families, and partners with community groups to support minority farmers. Through training, advocacy, and community engagement, Back to the Basic Farms goal is to strengthen food security, promote land ownership, and improve long term community health.
