Capabilities

Kestrel Defense Systems builds attritable unmanned systems for contested airspace. Two systems exist as flying prototypes, both developed on internal research and development: a kinetic counter-UAS interceptor that defeats small UAS threats where electronic attack is restricted or ineffective; and a one-way unmanned aircraft that navigates without GNSS where satellite navigation is jammed, spoofed or unavailable. Core technical areas: guidance, navigation and control; onboard autonomy; embedded flight software; computer vision and terminal seeker development; airframe design; and flight test. Component selection is assessed against NDAA FY2020 Section 848 and the FY2024 American Security Drone Act, with country of final assembly established per part. Unit cost and cost per engagement are tracked as engineering requirements alongside mass, power and range. Kestrel is a Delaware C-corporation incorporated in June 2026. It holds no prior contracts and no past performance history.
