Eileen formed Eileen Newhall Consulting LLC in March 2021, looking to use her past legislative experience to help organizations successfully navigate the world of financial services public policy in Sacramento. Prior Experience Eileen Newhall served as Staff Director to the California State Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee from March, 2005 through March, 2021. In that role, she analyzed and drafted financial services legislation, staffed legislation for the Chair of her committee, planned informational hearings, and responded to questions from legislators, legislative staff, members of the public, and the press about matters before the Committee. Eileen played a leading role in advising the Legislature on secured and unsecured lending, emerging financial products and services, and asset building strategies for low- and moderate-income Californians. She staffed or significantly influenced over five dozen chaptered bills on those subjects.
