Capabilities

Atlas stores digital data in synthetic DNA, offering permanent data storage that is small, lightweight, durable and secure. Atlas also develops custom DNA data storage hardware for special applications and can store DNA data in custom form factors. Atlas encodes data in synthetic DNA, which is stored in small steel capsules. Data is encoded in DNA as sequences of A, C, G, T. The resulting DNA is dehydrated and stored as a powder in hermetically sealed steel capsules. DNA data capsules can be shipped to customers or stored securely by Atlas. DNA can be read using any standard sequencer, such as those from Illumina, Agilent, Ultima, Roche, and others. Atlas also offers benchtop equipment designed for high-throughput DNA data synthesis. Custom hardware can be developed for specialized applications where density, portability, or data security is paramount.
