Capabilities

The Cell Saver autotransfusion system is intended for use in surgeries in which medium- to high-volume blood loss occurs in order to return healthy red blood cells back to the patient that they have lost during the procedure. The system delivers moderate hematocrit (red blood cell concentration) and helps to remove traces of undesirable components, such as free hemoglobin, and is a critical tool in helping you avoid unnecessary allogeneic transfusions. There are a number of benefits of this, but returning fulling oxygenated blood back to the patient increases healing rate, lowers risk of infection and eliminates risk of rejection of donor blood for the volume of the autologous blood that they receive from our machine.
