Founded in 1970 as one of the first minority-owned information technology companies in the southeastern United States dedicated to serving the needs of select government and commercial clientele, D P Associates, Inc. (DPA) has an established history of providing clients innovative business solutions and exceptional customer service. Shortly after formation, the company bid for and won a General Services Administration contract to provide technical support to the Federal Data Processing Center in Huntsville, AL (at the time, one of the largest contracts ever awarded by the federal government under the Small Business Act). By 1978, DPA had successfully graduated from the 8(a) program and established itself as a trusted and skilled contractor/subcontractor that was known for excellent customer service and top-flight execution.
