Nursing Services and Support

To obtain nursing services necessary to ensure that TSA’s Human Capital (HC) provides appropriate medical review of covered employees’ self- certifying electronic medical questionnaires, and, when needed, contact and question employees to obtain necessary information or to initiate the next steps of assessment in order to clear the employee. These positions may include, but are not limited to Transportation Security Officers, Transportation Security Specialists – Explosive Detection Canine Handlers (TSS-EDCH), Transportation Security Specialists – Explosives (TSS-E), and Criminal Investigators. The Annual Medical Certification Program will evaluate, on a annual basis, the medical history of more than 50,000 front line employees and is required to comply with the DHS Office of Inspector General recommendations in OIG 17-112.
