*Syringe-Infusion Pump Compatibility Solutions Workshop

OHT3 is proposing to contract a third-party organization to develop and facilitate an FDA-led workshop with manufacturers on syringe-infusion pump compatibility solutions. This workshop would provide a structured forum to convene pump and syringe manufacturers, identify syringe characteristics that critically impact pump performance, and develop a technical framework that will be used to accelerate future development of a universal compatibility standard. A key deliverable would be a white paper (or similar collaborative document) summarizing findings, areas of alignment, and recommendations that will in turn serve as a foundation for further development to protect patients from syringe-pump incompatibility adverse events.
