Description
One of the unique capabilities AMO utilized in the examples above, and in the day-to-day defense of the Homeland, is the ability to provide readily deployable mUAS with enhanced situational awareness derived from persistent intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance imagery securely received and broadcast to AMO receiver sites on the ground. This unique capability frequently involves operating in austere environments. These sites are often remote from existing AMO or any other government facilities that can fulfill the requirement of mUAS operations, or where suitable sites have been disrupted. Therefore, during these events, AMO must establish temporary mUAS launch and recovery sites. These temporary launch and recovery sites are frequently established during exigent circumstances. Additionally, electrical power, cell service and other critical infrastructure is frequently not available due to the location of the event, or other disruptive factors. Currently, AMO establishes launch and recovery sites in a non-standardized fashion. Additionally, AMO must rely on exterior logistical support and facility rentals to reach operational capability of the temporary launch and recovery sites. AMO has identified this method of establishing temporary launch and recovery sites as a capability gap that is detrimental to AMO’s ability to execute its unique role in the defense of the Homeland. To address this gap, AMO has identified a requirement for an mUAS Launch and Recovery Maintenance Trailer to facilitate the launch and recovery of mUAS. This Maintenance Trailer is critically required to allow AMO to fulfill its unique role in the defense of the Homeland while operating in austere environments. Failure to fill this requirement will leave this critical gap open and greatly reduce AMO’s ability to fulfill its unique role. Acquisition Strategy: This will be competed among GSA contract holders. It will be a small business set aside and be competed as Lowest price technically acceptable.
