Provider Statistical & Reimbursement (PS&R)/System for (STAR)

Application maintenance for Provider Statistical and Reporting System & System Tracking for Audit and Reimbursement Sub-System. Application maintenance includes the design and development of changes to the application for new/changed functionality and performance improvements. The Provider Statistical and Reimbursement (PS&R) system and the System Tracking for Audit & Reimbursement sub-system (STAR) are key tools for MACs and providers in the cost reporting and settlement process. PS&R is a reporting system that uses the claims payment data generated by the MACs Part A claims processing function and transforms that information into a PS&R detail history file format. Once the transformation is complete, subsequent programs access the data to build detailed and summary reports for dissemination to the user community. The System for Tracking Audit and Reimbursement (STAR) sub-system is used by MACs and CMS to capture data specific to the Medicare settlement process.
