Predicted Signal Phase and Timing for Blocked Crossing Mitigation Test Phase 1

In cooperation with Union Pacific RR and a trusted industry data handler, this project will deploy a test system which utilizes railroad-provided train location information and an FRA-developed cloud application to estimate blocked crossing events.  Timing of these events will be communicated as predicted SPaT to select vehicle navigation systems and mobile apps.  The project will evaluate system feasibility, effectiveness, and scalability. The base period of performance will be 12 months.   This contract action is for the award of Phase 1.  This includes project planning, coordination, data handling agreements, and hardware/software development.  A future phase will fund deployment, test execution, and evaluation.
