Description
Detention Services supports the ongoing operational needs of the facility by ensuring safe, secure, and continuous supervision of individuals housed within the detention environment. This requirement addresses staffing gaps, compliance obligations, and critical operational functions that cannot be met with current resources. The acquisition enables the facility to maintain adequate coverage for detention operations, respond appropriately to incidents, and comply with Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Office of Justice Services (OJS) detention standards. Major tasks include daily detainee supervision, controlled movement operations, inmate counts, documentation and reporting, safety inspections, search and contraband control procedures, emergency readiness, and other responsibilities necessary for secure and consistent correctional operations. This requirement directly supports the mission of maintaining a safe, orderly, and professionally managed detention environment, ensuring staff and detainees remain protected and facility operations remain compliant with federal and tribal regulations. Key performance expectations include reliable staff coverage, adherence to detention protocols, accurate documentation, timely incident response, consistent enforcement of rules, and maintenance of a secure environment that meets all BIA/OJS expectations.
