Project will survey/repair 8 historic brick chimneys on Edison’s 1880 Queen-Anne style mansion. Areas of concern include water infiltration in the upper third of Chimneys 1, 2, 4, and 8, Chimney 1’s vertical joints that are wider than typical, and the large area of efflorescence on the south face below the lower corbeled band on the shaft of Chimney 3 (as identified in the Historic Structure Report:
