Lake Powhatan WWTP Disaster Recovery Decommissioning and Sewer Connection

The existing wastewater plant damamged by Hurricane Helene will be decommissioned and the Lake Powhatan Recreation Area will be connected to municipal sewer by the construction of and new force main and upgrade of the existing pump station. This project will improve user satisfaction mitigate the likelihood of more restrictive permit conditions in the future eliminate the risk of sewage overflows or non-compliant discharge in highly recreated and environmentally sensitive areas and result in extremely low annual operations and maintenance cost.
