National Implementation of HCAHPS Survey

The purpose of this task order is to continue Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) National implementation, including revising the survey instrument and adding new modes of survey implementation. HCAHPS should be seen as a core set of questions that can be administered as a stand-alone questionnaire or combined with a broader set of hospital-specific items. HCAHPS is designed to gather only the necessary data that CMS needs for comparative public reporting, as well as items that are used for Congressional reports on healthcare disparities, and should complement, not replace, data that hospitals are currently collecting that support improvement in internal hospital customer services and related activities.
