Nbacc Iii

This requirement is to operate and manage the National Biodefense Analysis and Countermeasures Center (NBACC) located at Fort Detrick, Maryland. NBACC’s mission is to provide a scientific basis for the characterization of biological threats, emerging threat characterization and bioforensics analysis to support attribution of their planned or actual use. The mission is implemented by two NBACC components: the National Bioforensics and Analysis Center (NBFAC) and the National Biothreat Characterization Center (NBTCC). Integrated under NBACC, NBFAC and NBTCC provide a continuously available national capability of broad and adaptable competencies that provide pre-positioned and responsive scientific expertise and equipment for identified high-risk and high-consequence biological threats.
