Inverted configuration, benchtop, spinning disk confocal microscope capable of confocal imaging, widefield fluorescence, brightfield, phase contrast and differential interference contrast imaging. System must include environmental control for live cell imaging to include temperature and humidity. System must include software and hardware facilitating rapid development of multi-well, multi0channel, time-lapse, z-stack and tiled acquisition workflows in all the aforementioned imaging modes.
