Description
This is an ongoing, multi-year program to rehabilitate the full 184.5 miles of the C&O Canal Towpath, the central feature of the C&O Canal National Historical Park, visited by over 4 million people annually. Annually, over $1 million in funding is transferred to NPS through the Maryland State Transportation Alternatives Program for his project, making it a high priority for the park to ensure the state's funds are spent responsibly and on-time. Project will enhance safety along the towpath.
