Description
To build a new sugarcane lab and office building at the Houma USDA site. The new building will house offices laboratories and conference/meeting spaces. The Lab/Office Building will complement the Sugarcane Greenhouse which is presently under construction on the same site. The new Lab/Office Building will replace an existing laboratory and office building located in nearby Houma proper. The existing 1938-vintage building is out of code structurally and mechanically and needs to be replaced. Recently in Sept. 2024 hurricane Francine compounded the damage significantly.
