The Study of the U.S. Branch is responsible for planning and overseeing a variety of academic exchange programs including the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders (YALI), Study of the U.S. Institutes (SUSI) for Student Leaders and Scholars, and the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). The Incumbent performs a wide variety of duties necessary for proper program implementation, management and monitoring, in coordination with regional bureaus, other bureau offices, program agencies, and posts. They also provide support to higher level officials and ECA senior management.
