Description
The Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS) is tasked to expand its data statistics services and improve the quality and timeliness of the data produced. Successful service expansion and quality improvement require exploring technical tools to enable improved data management for data quality, data cybersecurity, and data sharing with other government agencies, such as the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). OHSS must plan timely emerging technology adoption to meet these dramatic business changes and sustain its operations. Achieving the business strategic goal is critically dependent upon efficient and effective IT data management. This includes the development and maintenance of OHSS Data Dashboards using Tableau or a similar platform to streamline data querying and reporting for users. These dashboards integrate logic from multiple reports and data sources, enabling robust data validation and ensuring that information is current and accurate. The dashboards are regularly updated to reflect evolving reporting requirements and incorporate enhancements to logic and queries. Key federal staff should be trained to utilize the dashboards as needed to respond to queries after hours and to strengthen collaboration between the federal and contract teams.
