Description
This project is being conducted per the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act (OPA). The source of NPS’ project funds is the 2016 settlement with British Petroleum for injuries to barrier island habitat caused by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. NPS is obligated under OPA to restore these injuries. If delayed, we could not collect crucial data that would evaluate project success and we would miss out on opportunities to leverage funds from partners.
