Description
This project is being conducted per the requirements of the Oil Pollution Act (OPA). The source of NPS’ $2,461,000 is the 2016 settlement with British Petroleum for injuries to recreational use caused by the 2010 Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill. NPS is obligated under OPA to restore these injuries. If delayed, visitor services will remain compromised for another year.
