Description
This contract is used to conduct ion analysis on particulate matter samples collected from the Interagency Monitoring of Protected Visual Environments (IMPROVE) network. Particulate matter contributes to haze, diminishing the scenic vistas, which are protected in specific national parks and wilderness areas (Class I areas) by the Clean Air Act Amendments (CAAA). To fulfill its legal obligations, the National Park Service actively monitors visibility in national parks through the IMPROVE program.
