The NPS Socioeconomics and Resource Recovery Division (SRRD) requires economic value estimates focused on both recreational losses and the avoided loss of individual animals for use in damage assessments and other policy contexts. These values will be used to make the public whole for the loss of recreational and wildlife resources held in trust on their behalf.
