This project will demolish the Chapin Helibase and restore the native vegetation and scenery of the site. A landfill that operated from approximately the 1930’s until 1982 is present at the helibase. The helibase is no longer in use due to documented potential disposal of CERCLA hazardous substances in this landfill and identified releases of organic and potential releases of inorganic CERCLA hazardous substances associated with this landfill.
