IT Acquisition: FDA is continuing its agency-wide transition from Cisco Voice over Internet Protocol (VOIP) telephony services to the Microsoft Teams unified communications platform as part of its broader IT modernization initiative, which began in 2023. This effort involves the systematic decommissioning of legacy Cisco VOIP licenses, migration of users to Microsoft Teams voice and collaboration capabilities, and the maintenance of remaining Cisco VOIP services for user populations not yet transitioned. FY27 funding will support the final phases of this migration, covering residual licensing, technical support, and infrastructure sustainment costs required to complete the transition and fully decommission legacy systems.
