Advancing National Offshore Critical Mineral Inventory (NOCMI) - National Planning and Programmatic Research Implementation

Anticipated investments include: (1) contract to expand/enhance mineral composition analysis of archived and new OCS critical mineral (CM) samples; (2) expanded existing collaboration with USGS and NOAA to improve resource mapping and resource evaluation in the Atlantic (may be modified/new order under existing GT&C); (3) development of new CM-rich heavy mineral sand (HMS) analysis protocols; and (4) economic and technical feasibility study to compare spatial and temporal scales relevant to HMS extraction and related technology, a critical priority of shelf leasing.
