Description
Notice of Intent: The Coast Guard intends to solicit, negotiate and award a sole-source procurement (under RFO authority 6.103) to NEWPORT AVA AG, LLC dba Southern Ford, 12896 Jefferson Ave., Newport News, VA 23608. Background and Justification: The operational capability of PSU 305's Prime Mover fleet has dropped to a critical 16.67% readiness level. With only one (1) out of six (6) vehicles currently mission-capable, the unit's Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF) mandate faces a severe operational bottleneck. This creates an immediate risk to rapid response, high-readiness global deployments and the vital launching of Transportable Port Security Boats (TPSBs). The U.S. Coast Guard Port Security Unit 305 (PSU 305), based out of Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Fort Eustis, Virginia, requires repair services to bring its Deployable Specialized Forces (DSF) assets back to fully operational status. Six (6) specialized Prime Mover trucks. To meet operational mission requirements PSU 305 requires assets for towing and launching transportable Port Security Boats (TPSBs) during rapid-response, high-readiness global deployments.
