Description
The City of Kyle Wastewater Treatment Plant is currently undergoing construction of the Early Works Package (EWP), which will provide an additional 1.5 million gallons per day (MGD) of treatment capacity. The EWP represents the initial phase of a comprehensive plant expansion with the completion of the Full Works Package (FWP) Expansion, which will ultimately increase the facility’s treatment capacity to 9.0 MGD. The expansion includes the construction of several new treatment and support facilities, including a Grit Removal Facility, Odor Control Units, Storage Facility, and CMU Wall. The project also incorporates significant improvements and expansions to existing treatment processes and infrastructure to support the increased capacity and enhance overall plant performance. Major improvements include Headworks modifications; an Aeration Basin Splitter Box; expanded Aeration Basins and Clarifiers; upgrades to the RAS/WAS Pump Station; Rapid Mix and Flocculation improvements; UV Disinfection upgrades; Post-Aeration Basins; Effluent Flow Metering; and improvements to the Aerobic Digesters and Blowers. The project also includes enhancements to the plant-wide SCADA monitoring and control system to improve operational visibility, automation, and process management. Additionally, improvements to the existing Package Plants will be incorporated as part of the overall expansion. Collectively, these improvements will provide the City of Kyle with increased wastewater treatment capacity, improved process reliability, enhanced operational efficiency, and the infrastructure necessary to accommodate continued community growth.
