Description
The City of Greer, South Carolina ("City of Greer"), in releasing this REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL ("RFP"), intends to pursue a contract with a FOOD SERVICE OPERATOR ("FSO") who will be responsible for managing and operating a food, beverage (including beer and wine), and catering services at the newly developed Prisma Health Performance Center located at 1529 S. Highway 14 Greer, SC 29650. ForGreer In 2024, the City of Greer launched the ForGreer initiative – a $100 million dollar investment in the City of Greer over four years to complete four capital projects that would improve public safety, provide recreational assets to meet the City of Greer’s growing population, serve as an economic driver, and improve the quality of life for residents of the City of Greer. The crown jewel of the ForGreer initiative is a 200,000+ square foot sports and events facility that features nine basketball courts – that can be reconfigured into 18 volleyball courts, a 4,000 square foot fitness facility, a lounge with multi-sport simulators, an elevated walking track, a dedicated wrestling room, an event space, and two medical office rental spaces. In August of 2026, the City of Greer announced a 10-year, $3million sponsorship with Prisma Health and confirmed that this facility will be called the Prisma Health Performance Center. At the same time, Prisma Health announced that it will be leasing a 3,500 square foot space in the facility for orthopedic and rehabilitation services. An additional lease for 4,000 square feet is currently pending for a physical therapy practice. Construction of the Prisma Health Performance Center is well underway with substantial completion of the facility scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. The City of Greer’s Parks Recreation and Toursim (“PRT”) Department is busy planning expansions of existing offerings and new recreational activities to serve the full spectrum of ages in the facility on Monday through Thursday. Initial estimates suggest that the City of Greer’s PRT programming will quadruple with the opening of the Prisma Health Performance Center. The City of Greer has also committed to Sports Tourism in the construction and operation of the Prisma Health Performance Center. Travel sports groups have expressed significant interest in hosting tournaments at the facility, and as of August 2026 the City of Greer Team has secured signed commitments for the first 44 weekends of operation to host a variety of travel sports tournaments. Typical travel sports partners represent travel volleyball and basketball and will bring 100-150 teams per weekend through the facility.
