Description
Required work includes maintenance dredging of the Rudee Inlet Federal Navigation Channel and associated project areas in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Dredging will involve removal of up to approximately 220,000 cubic yards of sandy maintenance material from the Rudee Entrance Channel, Sand Trap, Entrance Channel Transition Area, North Jetty Area, South Jetty Area, and Outer Deposition Basin. Dredged material will be hydraulically pumped and placed on approved beach placement areas at Resort Beach and, if required by option work, Croatan Beach. Work will occur in an open-ocean environment with high recreational vessel traffic and public beach use. The Contractor will be required to provide all labor, equipment, plant, supervision, safety controls, environmental protection measures, beach placement, grading, cleanup, and incidental work necessary to complete the project in accordance with the contract drawings and specifications. Lake Wesley will not be available for staging or safe harbor use.
