Description
This is an amendment to a previously synopsized requirement for the National Park Service, Crater Lake National Park to clean and inspect water tanks. The purpose of this Amendment no. 04 is to provide all interested parties additional clarification about tank sediment as follows: The question was raised about how to remove sediment at the Garfield tank site due to it being located on a trail, how big sediment bags are, and there was concern it wouldn't be feasible to haul out sediment via motorized toters. This year Crater Lake National Park had the bladders replaced in all the tanks and does not anticipate much sediment being discharged. For the Garfield tank site a bag can be used to collect any discharge which it is feasible to haul it out bagged using a motorized toter the .7 miles between the tank and the parking area. Also, water can be discharged at the Garfield tank site, just be sure to use a longer hose to discharge the water well away from the trail so that discharged water does not cause any erosion around the tank or on trail's cliffside. The question was also asked about the frequency of cleaning, and the park has the tanks cleaned on a schedule of every three to five years. Solicitation response date has not changed. Quotes are due by 4pm PDT on September 17, 2026, emailed to Phaedra_Fuller@ios.doi.gov. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation.
