The purpose of this Invitation for Bid (IFB) is to obtain pricing and select a Vendor for the replacement of the current curtains in the passenger areas of the NCDOT’s 56 and 66 seat coaches. These railcars are currently equipped with curtains that were installed when the cars were originally refurbished for NCDOT use. Matching curtains are no longer available, and many of the current curtains are damaged beyond repair. The Rail Division wishes to replace the current curtains in the passenger area with new blackout-style curtains. Replacing the current curtains will decrease heat infiltration through the windows when in use and will provide a more professional appearance for the Piedmont train service.
