Multi Crop Shredder

This acquisition is for the procurement of one (1) Multi Crop Shredder required by U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agriculture Research Service (ARS). The equipment is needed for a research project on residue management in irrigated corn-based cropping systems in the northern Great Plains (Sidney, MT). The objective is to provide farmers with information about how to achieve the best planting results and subsequent crop yield following grain corn, which produces large amounts of crop residue. A shredder is needed that lifts fallen corn residue and shred all residue to a size that facilitates tillage operations and promotes residue decomposition in a semi-arid area with cold, dry winters.
