Description
In 2024, the City of Ellsworth received a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) from the state of Maine's Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) for a Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program. This program assists with projects that improve or rehabilitate commercial building exteriors to their original character or make ADA improvements in conjunction with entrance improvements. The program was made available to property owners and/or tenants (with the property owner’s permission) in the grant area for buildings that are at least 50 years old. All proposed projects underwent consultation review by the Maine Historic Preservation Commission and are required to follow the City’s building ordinance. The Downtown Façade Improvement Program advisory committee reviewed applications and made award decisions in FY2025. The grant is now in an extended implementation phase through June 2027 and is accepting bids on select facade projects. Since this work is partially funded through a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Business Façade Grant and is subject to all federal and state requirements, including the reporting forms uploaded in the "Attachments" section. Davis-Bacon wage rates will apply for this project. About this project: The City of Ellsworth is seeking qualified vendors to provide individual bids for the following service to the Project Title .
