Description
The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, MD (the "WSSC"), is soliciting sealed responses for Project Title . Responses are to be submitted via WSSC's eProcurement Portal via https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/wsscwater PRIOR TO Response Submission Time on Response Submission Date . Late responses will not be accepted. Project work includes: The purpose of the project is to develop a long-term solution that will provide a secondary water source to the Potomac River water supply which will benefit the entire metropolitan region. WSSC Water is seeking proposals from qualified companies (the "Consultant") to provide the services described in the scope of work to perform a preliminary engineering study and 35 percent design in accordance with the requirements outlined in the 1986 Water Resources Development Act (WRDA) Section 203, as amended by the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRDA, 2014). WRDA is a biennial, bipartisan federal law that authorizes the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) to study, plan, and construct projects in the Corps' civil works program. Section 203 of WRDA authorizes non-federal agencies to perform the above work for submittal to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (ASA) for them to request authorization by the U.S. Congress under a subsequent WRDA Bill for the design and construction of the recommended project.
