Charles County VanGo Maintenance Facility Construction

The Board of Commissioners for Charles County seeks qualified contractors to provide construction services for a new public transit facility to support VanGo operations in Charles County, MD. The project consists of the complete construction, testing, commissioning, training, and turnover of the Charles County VanGo Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility. The project site is located on VanGo Way, east of Piney Church Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20602, on Tax Map 24, Grid 22, Parcel 169, Account No. 08-359601. The civil plan set is identified as PGM # DSP-230025 and Project No. 32208-030, and the site area is approximately 6.72 acres. The project is funded in part with Federal and State transit funds administered through the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA). The Contractor and all subcontractors shall comply with all applicable County, State, MTA, Federal Transit Administration (FTA), labor, environmental, quality, reporting, and recordkeeping requirements incorporated into the Contract Documents. The facility is intended to support approximately fifty (50) transit buses. The adopted capital program identifies an approximately 180,000-square-foot program, including approximately 20,000 square feet of administration, operations, and maintenance service space and approximately 82,000 square feet of commuter-bus parking. The Work includes the operations and maintenance building, bus parking and circulation, VanGo Way and access-road improvements, bus wash and chassis wash facilities, fare-collection facilities, fueling island and pad-mounted fuel storage tank, trash enclosure, parking areas, utilities, grading, drainage, stormwater management, landscaping, pavement markings, signage, and all related improvements shown or specified in the Contract Documents.
