Zimmer Biomet Rosa Robot Preventative Maintenance (Notice of Intent to Sole Source)

Acquisition Description: The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center has a Rosa robot manufactured by Zimmer Biomet. This ROSA neurosurgical robot is capable of assisting endoscopic procedures and providing accurate localization and a robotic platform for performing deep brain stimulation surgery. The NIH requires a preventative maintenance agreement every year to ensure the robot is maintained in good condition and optimal performance. Justification: The proposed vendor, Zimmer Biomet is the sole source provider of maintenance for the robot they manufactured. No other company can perform this support. Using any other [unauthorized] company will void any warranties on the robot, and there is no other known authorized company that can provide maintenance to the Rosa Robot. Requirement: One Base Year and up to Three Option Years for preventative maintenance. PWRSK1 - Premium Warranty ROSA® Knee 1 Year (1 Year of Premium Warranty for BS21121) Base Year: 09/30/2026 – 09/29/2027 Option Year 1: 09/30/2027 – 09/29/2028 Option Year 2: 09/30/2028 – 09/29/2029 Option Year 3: 09/30/2029 – 09/29/2030 Place of Performance or Delivery: The Period of Performance is: 09/28/2026 – 09/27/2027 Delivery within 30 days of award, or as otherwise mutually agreed to Place of Performance: NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, MD The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements.
